With Honda about to release their 2015 heavily updated VFR800x runner - you may want to see what the press made of the new bike.

    Road test

Overall it seems the updated bike is a substantial improvement on the original cross runner - now if only Honda can get the price right - it will sell like hot cakes!

Boy she definitely looks squarely aimed at the multi-strada now. Wonder if Honda fit and finish coupled with dependability is enough to knock off the sexy factor. Both are weird looking to me, but so is my f800gs.

"That is, until I took the Crossrunner past 6,500rpm. That magic place where the bike’s VTEC system kicks in."

It always makes me smile a little bit to myself when I read quotes like the one above from the new Crossrunner review SkiMad.
It's funny how many people get it wrong and think that once the VTEC kicks in the engine is now somehow doing something magical.

In the VTEC engine all the magic happens from idle speed up to the point where the VTEC kicks in. At that point the magic is all done.

From the point where the VTEC kicks in up to the 11,750 redline the engine is now simply operating like any other ordinary normal 4 valve per cylinder 4 cylinder engine does. What da heck is so magical about that? :noidea:

BTW - The dash layout on the new Crossrunner looks kinda nice.

I'm so tired of people calling adventure wannabe bikes sport tourers. Where's the sport?

To me the new and improved cross runner looks like a scaled up NC700X. It's nice looking and comfortable for the sit tall in the saddle crowd but is if for a new market or just diluting Honda's own market? Is it a dual sport? What about the pending launch of the Honda Africa twin?
