Has anyone replaced, or looked at replacing their stock indicator (turn-signal) bulbs with LED equiivalents? It bewilders me that Honda designed the 2014 model with LEDs for the head-lights, brake-lights, and tail-lights, but settled for conventional filament bulbs for the turn signals.

Keen to hear from the assembled sagely wisdoms... ;-)

I have changed them on a different bikes if you are looking to make the OEM one into LED you'll have to be a dab hand at soldering. Other than that replacements are out there but you will need a electronic relay or inline resistors to make them flash at the correct speed.

No it doesn't use the canbus network as it only has one ECU and nothing else to communicate with. Wiring harness is standard issue.

Hi guys. I'm new here and also want to fit LEDs. Does anyone know where the relay is?? Can't find it anywhere. I'd rather replace the relay. Not to keen on soldering.

so that there is a listed answer, the headlight relay and the turn signal relay are located under the front cowling, behind the display panel. Left side relay is the headlight relay, right side relay is the turn signal relay on a 5th Gen.

I must admit, I don't get the fascination with replacing bulbs to LED's.
Why? Are you having problems with the normal bulbs?

I've seen alot of LED indicator replacements that are way worse than the OEM setup, weak and not enough daylight illumination.

That's easy to answer from my point of view living in Canada ... although other peoples reasons may be different.

I'm particularly interested and looking at this for my bike because it equates to less load on the battery, r/r and stator ... that gives me more over head and comfort to add more heated heated gear, accessories and grips that use power. Other than that, I could care less to be honest.

I see the point if you want to add devices that use more power.
Don't think blinker bulbs will do much, tail lights and headlights make more sense.
Also be aware if you're not adding extra power sucking devices, the less power you use, the more load on the R&R.
If you suck up all the power the stator is making, the R&R has no load, it is only converting, If you have lots of excess power, the R&R has to turn this into heat.
Most LED bulbs are still crap compared to standard, I have friends that have gone this route, and you can hardly see the blinkers in sun light. They don't seem to care when I point this out.
It seems only blinkers and tail lights that are designed for LED's work well.

Some like to clean up the look of the housing with the colored filament in so as to get rid of the egg yolk look.

Main benefit (to me) of LED's in signaling lights is the noticeably quicker illumination time. Critically for the brake light, not so much for the indicators. But still...

A video of the turn signals blinking?
Sure, if you walk me through the process of posting video clips from my iPhone :)

Yup and maybe someone will chimp in, tried it also from my phone and couldn't figure it out.
Think most people post to youtube first and then copy and post here.
Sounds like a great idea anyways.
    Thanks

    http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/...ld.com/lights/inertia-led-can-bus-led-lights/

food for thought, I would stick with stock bulbs, foot note, the bmw types used to go for a cheapo replacement led tail bulb and would trigger a fault code on the can-bus system. You had to correct it with the gt tool that they used at the time. I traveled all the way to europe and bought some nice head light bulbs actually made in germany. Anyway, cheers and happy/safe motoring. :vtr2:

    The VFR doesn't have a can-bus system.
