Hey guys, I've made a few posts over the past few days, but I haven't officially introduced myself yet.

My name is exactly as it appears here on the forums. I live on the Canadian prairies here in Manitoba. I've owned several bikes in the past, including a 1982 Honda Magna V45 that I restored to showroom condition, and a 1985 Suzuki Katana GS750S. I loooooove a great story / heritage behind a bike, and I especially love the sound and feel of a 4 cylinder bike.

A few years ago, I almost purchased a Bandit 1250SEA but with 3 young kids, a new house, a short riding season, expensive insurance, and a job where I had to drive a company vehicle all day, I had to put that aspiration aside. In that time, I had also had the chance to ride the 2007 25th Anniversary VFR800 and fell in love.

With a new job and my kids a little older now, I purchased a black 2002 VFR800 over the weekend and dropped it at the dealer for a safety inspection.

Today, it finally came home through the cold -36C weather in the comfort of a trailer. It came with a Givi 46L top case (monokey) and Givi touring screen. The bike has 29,000 km on it, and it in extremely good condition.

I purchased a set of gently used E36 monokey side cases, and the mount yesterday. I will also be purchasing a set of Oxford Heaterz touring grips.

As soon as I get it into the heated portion of my garage, I'll be pulling all the fairings to remove the minor scuffs and polishing them up to showroom finish.

This bike is going to be my daily commuter during the summer (I drive 120km round trip every day - all highway), and I plan on doing a few trips with it this summer, including the Black Hills / Badlands, which is just a one day drive for me.

I'll post more photos later, I apologize for this one, it was cold and getting dark ... :)

-36C I can't get my head around that, man could die out there in those conditions, we had +36 a couple of days ago. I can never understand why Canadians love their motorbikes with such a short riding season and temps getting so low

Well, here on the prairies, it regularly gets to +36C in the summer. Maybe it's the short season that makes us that more more rabid for the riding season. :)

How hard is it to get parts for your Katana Jeff?

    And congrats.

Hey Flat head! Where in Manitscolditoldya? I originate from Winterpeg, 10 years in Brandon (loved Brandon) then back to the city. 6 glorious months in Vagina Saskabush then out here to the wet coast. But I do remember walking to school where it was so cold, that if there was the slightest wind, you had to walk back to the wind because the cold would actually stop your ability to take a breath.

I haven't had it since about 2000-2001 (ish) ... but back then parts weren't easy to get, but they weren't hard to find either. I suspect that's changed over the years though. That bike would be 30 years old now.

    LMFAO!!!

I'm currently residing in Garson (20-25mins NE of Winnipeg, close to Beausejour). I grew up in St. Clements (Narol) off Henderson Highway outside the city, and lived in East Kildonan for 5 years when my wife and I got married. I used to get out to Brandon quite regularly with my old job.

And yeah, it's that cold right now ... that said, it gets equally as hot in the summer. :)

I'm already planning a trip to the Blackhills this summer. I'd love to do Yellowstone but I might need to save that for another year.

Picked up these lovely Givi 36L monokey side cases for the Viffer. :)

$250 for the set, the came with a Suzuki Burgman mount that I'm selling for obvious reasons. :)

I have the Givi mount coming UPS, it just hit Winnipeg today. I should see it on Monday.

You gonna use those to haul the snow away from the driveway or to carry several cans of ether? LOL.

    Thanks, RJGTI!

Well, had a beautiful day of riding today, but the top trunk just seemed kinda odd by itself. This evening I went out to the workshop and put the pannier mounts on ... :)

Nice. I have a wingrack on my 99 with an E460 topcase and E45 sidecases. She has one wide ass I can say. Also have the little 21 litre sidecases as well. Just got a pair of givi turn signals that mount behind the cases. The stock tail light is buried behind the big side cases.
