Very cool. Congratulations. I used to have a mint 1986 VF1000R that was bone stock and I am sure that your bike is 10x better.

Thanks for that! Not sure if it's 10x better, but I like it.

Your bike is retro, but oozes with updated technology. Absolutely gorgeous! OK, maybe 8x :)

Great job on your 1000 but not a need to get pissy aboot a juxtaposition of words from a magazine withoot looking at synonyms for "practical" and "sportsbike"

I am on the hunt for a copy of the February issue featuring what I hope are several re-dooz of the VFR 750F just like my mach 1 91. Next will be the 78 SR500 and the moneypit of sportbikes and not a bit practical, me 79 Krauser equipped BMW.

I was hoping too that there would be some mention of 50's bikes too but I guess not. Sold the 53 Velocette and the 59 KRTT will remain sort of stock until it finds it's final home in MOMA.

Check oot some of the both practical and not so practical bikes at the VME Isle of Vashon TT for the last 30 years or so.

For those who don't care much for squinting at tiny little JPEGs on even bigass screens, Google up "Practical Sportsbikes". A practical approach.

^ yeh I got a Motorcyclist from the 90s that has the original write up on the first gen3 bikes. They have a picture in Italy with aboot 20 red 90 bikes lined up handle bar to handle bar, or clip on to clip on. ; )

Almost every bike mag worldwide was gaga over the 90-93s. There used to be or maybe still is a guy who was selling reviews on all kinds of bikes gleaned from all kinds of mags. His ad was in CW for years.

I sent off for the package on the mach 1. That and several dudes that really know bikes giving me solid (practical) advice got me to buy one brand spankin new and I still got it.

    Pissy?

Easy there "official VFRWorld Troll of the year".

Sounds like you know exactly what a Practical Sportsbike is. Jumping in with a "WTF is a practical sportsbike" sounds like a thread crap to me. You don't like the pic from my phone or the small resolution pics of the article? My most humble of apologies. Those pics of the article are all I have available, sent from someone who has actually seen the article as I still have awhile to wait here For my hard copies. You can always buy the magazine. Or better yet, download it from apple. Very possibly not a wise idea to post high resolution photos of copyrighted material.

Don't have anything nice to say? Don't come to my thread and act "pissy".

It's unique in the small world of 600 pound sportbikes.

What exactly is wrong with 600 pound sportbikes?
That is only 273 kg. Seems ok to me.
I think Harley make 600kg sportbikes and people queue to buy them.
In any case the VF1000R in the mag is a work of art regardless of how much it weighs in at.

Harley does make 600lb sportsbikes. Ya buy one of those bigass cruisers and cut it in half with a torch.

    Thanks for that.

Don't worry about the wanker trolls on this site. I have noticed some of those that have nothing constructive of their own to contribute usually take a p!ss on others threads to keep from thinking about their own meaningless existence. Very sad really. A negative comment makes them feel superior or smarter to themselves. They believe it makes them look more intelligent to the rest of us. Even a negative response to one of their provocations feeds the attention they seek so desperately. Too bad they don't focus on earning it instead of cheap shots and deriding comments.
