I'll wait for your report before I fork out the money at that price.

Yup. I'll take one for the team.

It's not a bad price at $105 considering the cost of the Kaoko ($140), Throttlemeister ($137-155), and Omni-Cruise ($50)

I wonder if any women will be buying these to put on their husband's Johnson bars?

There might be a whole market oot there for the inventor selling them to harleydoodchicas.. A few skulls and conchos and six % for stocking them in "Harleytiques" and the guy gets rich.

In realtime, the Atlas rigs might be a good alternative to some of the problems some have with installs of ThrottleMeisters. I have one on my 91 and that had to be machined a little to fit. Also with the ThrottleMeisters ya get a matching left bar end and the tension on the locking is variable even at full "lock".

Haha. Yeah, I hear you man ... I like the concept of this ATLAS throttle lock.

I'll do a full write up on it once it arrives.

I'm holding off on installing my Oxford heated grips as well until I get some HeliBars.

You might as well pick up a set of Vibranators when you get the Helibars. Way better than the stock weights/dampers and it saves you the hassle of removing them from the stock bars. That would make for a pretty significant upgrade doing all those things at once!

I think I am drunk. I pre-ordered one. Looks good. I think it would work better than the meister. Also, really reminds me of the old throttle lock my dad had on his Goldwing. Not sure why this is anything new. His was plastic though.

Hmm. I'll check those out ... thanks for the heads up on them! The vibes are already pretty low on my bike, but if they're reasonably priced, it wouldn't hurt.

Haha! I thought it through pretty good before I bought. I did a lot of research on all the throttle locks and speed controls .... I think this is going to be a good farkle for distance riding.

I wonder if those Vibranators work on Harleys. I think Harleys are the original vibranators. I hope the dude who sells these doesn't get sued by Harley for copyright infringement.

Various throttle locking farkles have been around on some bike as OEM.. Got one of these on me 79 R100RS that used to be an R100RT.

Good article here from back aways.

Looks like the Atlas is now or going to be when shipped, of all steel construction..

It's dangerous sending the un initiated to Snowbums pages. Many have lost their minds trying to make sense of it all. Though the spinning bike story was a good one.
So what BMW have you got? I have a 91RS

I took a look at those Vibranators ... man, those things are pricey.

I might have to bite the bullet on those at a later date. The wife is already giving me the stink-eye. :)

Yeah, I should've mentioned that they're not cheap. But, once you spend an hour trying to get the stock dampers out of the old bars, you'll be wishing you had them! Maybe you'll get lucky and your dampers have already been pulled out once. If not, make sure you have a good bench vice and a helper, cause they can be a real pain, even for a skilled mechanic.

Some other farkles too on the R100

A Reynolds ride off stand and a Brown side stand. Replacement of electrical components too. Beemers are well engineered but are IMO pretty much best left as is. The Krauser heads alone are hard on the rest of the bike just because of the increased compression ratio and on the stock cam. Under about 40 F I have to jump the bike to get it started. I was going to add a kick starter. Many of the Euro models and especially the police models in that time frame had them.. Lotsa bucks in this puppy. It's pretty and fast but expensive. Met a guy at a Rallye in Canada who built me an LED brake light. EE just to see if he could do it. Still works great. Got on of those fork braces too.

There is a pic of it on Rich's Seats under Vintage bikes. No bags or the 2into1 Luftmeister or the Mikunis.. Another plug for Rich.. he does great work. We go way back..

I'm not much on the "net" thing. Few pix and carefully selected personal shit. No Facebook or Twitter either. Had one bike of mine stolen and two break ins losing jackets and helmets. Other stuff too that I consider not real smart.. Posting family info like pix of kids, allowing access to bank accounts to creditors who want to auto debit the accounts, and not telling folks that I actually once owned a Harley.

The Beemer is like the little girl with the curl on her forehead. "When she is good she is very, very good and when she is bad she's like a thousand peso hooker."

Seems nice but I'm not sure why this thing is so much more expensive than the NEP or Vista Cruise throttle locks. I used NEP throttle locks on both my old bikes and they were much cheaper and they worked really well. I understand this ATLAS version might be slightly better quality or easier to engage or disengage but is that really worth the extra $75 to $80? Seems very overpriced to me.
