I've been weeding through all kinds of exhaust threads here and other places - it seems to me that many of the system that were discussed are no longer available.

What are the current affordable exhaust offerings available for a 6th gen? Doesn't seem like there are many left - the ones I'm finding seem to be for 5th gen.

I just picked up a 6th gen (2006) over the winter and bought a Two Brothers 3/4 system for it. They seem to be widely available. I also considered a Delkevic as well.

Two brothers sure seem to make sweet exhausts. Just my opinion.

They are definitely sweet - but EXPENSIVE sweet. LOL

I really wanted the FMF Apex but they are hard to find now since they no longer make them - they too are very expensive.

I just purchased a Two Brothers this week. It wasn't my first choice, especially with the Dummy can, but I did like that you can have removable baffles and it does look cool from behind, which is all you'll ever see since I run my OEM bags all the time. I haven't received it yet, but I'll put up my impressions on the setup when I receive and install it. The other reason I went with 2 Bros is replacement parts and support are readily available whereas Scorpion and especially Italy-Only GPR are rather obscure and who knows if you could ever get spares or replacements or repack materials.

I know as a Canadian my local bike shop couldn't order a single product for me. Everything was discontinued or unavailable. Anything you look at will have to come from the US or Europe unless someone randomly has stock. I found exhausts available from Two Brothers, GPR, and Scorpion, also found 1 FMF - I didn't look for Delkevic because it's not my style. Leo Vince was my first choice for both brand and cost and you can't get one ANYWHERE - this continent or across the pond. I looked for a year...

None of them are cheap as it's a two can setup, so expect to pay twice as much as your standard single pipe slip-on. Best deal I found was Fly N Cycle on eBay have the 2 Bros Ti setup for $583 US. You can get aluminum other places for $40 cheaper, but I thought for $40 more might as well take more weight off such a high point on the bike.

Too bad for us that the loonie sucks against the greenback because the cost balloons to over $700. In any other situation I would want to be mounting an Akrapovic for that type of outlay.

    Good Luck to you Sir

Thanks for all the responses guys -- not sure what route I'll take.

Clearly though, I'll need to make a choice sooner than later as it seems the 6th gen exhaust is getting harder to find.

Definitely look into Delkevic. Inexpensive, good looking, great sounding, and well made for the price.

+1. Got the carbon fiber slip on for my 02 and it sounds and looks badass. I made the decision after comparing many youtube videos (not the best method I know) of that, the Remus, and the Staintune, also considering price and availability. You can also get a header from Delkevic if you want a full system.

I just got my delkevic on last night and it sounds great! Very easy installation and fitment. I am currently running it with the baffles in and i figure if i get used to them and want it louder then I'll take them out.

Anybody got tips on how to remove/replace rear pipe section on 6th gen? I just acquired a used oem exhaust and had it gutted. Looking for a quick way to swap them.

I'll let you know how it sounds after I make the swap. I went for gutted oem to maintain the original look.

    Cheers,

    Fly

I went with the GPR Deep Tone and I am super happy with them. I ordered from ebay and the package was at my door in 6 days - no tax / free shipping.

I have the baffles in and it is pretty quiet. Way improved sound over stock and I like the look.

It's done. I am now running a "gutted" OEM exhaust. Love the sound!

I'm running laser exhausts. They came with the bike. Make a sweet deep tone and sound like a V8. They aren't offensively loud. They are available but expensive :/

How loud is that GPR? A friend ran one on his GSXR track bike and it was way loud.

I guess they have a "race" version and a "street" version. I got the street version. It came with removable baffles, which I have installed. It also had a certificate of conformity for street use (in Italy :playful:). I don't think it's too loud at all, in fact I'm wanting to try it with the baffles removed.
