I just bought an '06 and it has stock exhaust but came with a Remus exhaust (PO took it off because he was going to trade the bike in)

Is there a performance benefit to the Remus? It looks cool, carbon fiber and all, but does it do anything besides look good? I really like the look of the stock exhaust and I'm at the age where I like how quiet it is. And the bike goes like a stabbed Comanche, I don't need more HP. (apologies to Native American members...)

I put a Yoshi on my '99 because I like the sound, if there's a performance increase that's just icing on the cake.

Slipons do have a performance increase, but it's probably in low single digit HP gains. (3-5 max, I'd guess)

Most are lighter than stock exhausts by quite a bit, but really it's only done for sound.

Zombie is right, compare the stock anchor and your Remus and you will notice a huge difference. Sound is number 1, cant beat that V4 at full song over the sewing machine sound of the stocker. And with an PCV it does feel alittle faster and deffinatley smoother throttle responce. And whats wit....at my age? Are you wearing hearing aids yet? Ha

Where is your dummy can? How can you call that an upgrade in looks with only one can?? That bike came from the factory with TWIN undertail exhaust. It looks pretty stupid with just one can on one side.

It looks better too me, a dummy can is for dummy's, I like the less weight. I now have a spare muffler too.

While there are more practical upgrades (suspension!) for the same price as aftermarket cans, my Leo Vinces sound cool!

This is why an aftermarket exhaust is a good mod.

My 2 cents: all of the above mentioned. Saves quite a lot of weight when compared to the 5th gen's heavy weight of a muffler...Mine came with a carbon M4 courtesy of the PO & sounds awesome!

I just installed the 2 Bros CF Black Series 10 days ago, but I'm such a dummy I left the dummy can on. To the OP, I like the look way better, it shaved a few pounds, and it makes my heart soar like an eagle every time I downshift. I cannot tell any performance difference but will report back as soon as I get the proper map loaded on my PC3.

I'm not young and oblivious anymore, and one thing to know if you are considering piping a VFR, it is quite an adjustment going from a bike that is incognito and whispers along to a bike that is significantly louder even in the midrange and downright roars when you whack it. In fact I ordered the - 7 or 8 db killer because while I love the sound, I can do without pissing off my neighbours.

With your parameters weight loss is the only benefit.

I m sure a few more Hp with the 2 bos carbon-same one on my bike. Ever see the stock muffler-a horrible piece of heavy junk and it curves around a lot-not good for exhaust flow
