I have a 46mm socket on its way to me but I can't find the part number of the 46mm Axle nut anywhere. Not keen on re-using the original as it's staked, I know it's a healthy torque of 201Nm...148lbs/ft to our colonial cousins but still.

I found a number on a French site and it doesn't compute...so can anyone help please?

I think it's part 20 on the fiche shown here, but these are not Honda part numbers, they're Ling's part numbers. Any Honda dealer can find the part number for you though. Hope this helps.

    Thanks yellow,

got the nut now and Part No. was printed on packaging...90306-M27-000

While it's stripped I think the 15 year old brake hoses will have to go so modifying the calipers or replacing them is next big job

Nice work. Scabby shock...what did you replace it with?

Just about to start doing swing arm bearings , Cush drive, rear hub bearings etc, then set about de-linking brakes with Firestorm fork lowers.

I kept it simple and got a Hagon from Wemoto. I read a few things about them - not as good as Nitron, get an Ohlins etc, but for a 16 year old bike being brought back from the dead and not anticipating millions of riding miles or going anywhere near a track, I thought it would suit me fine. And it does! I also replaced the front fork springs with Hagon progressive ones and heavier oil and together the mods have transformed the handling IMHO.

Think anything is better than stock. I get your rational...horses for courses and all that.

busy sourcing VTR1000 firestorm/Superhawk fork sliders, calipers and mudguard at the moment. Complete cbr600 f4 front legs, fully adjustable, would be ideal but its hard to find complete sets.

They all seem to be varying levels of neglected and not serviced since god was a boy!
