Hi, thinking about using POWERLET jacks on my 2002 VFR800.
I'd like to place a Jack in the middle of the triple clamp using the plastic cap.
From what i've seen, i need to drill a 11/16" hole in the plastic.
    Has anyone done this?
I do not see a kit for this over at the Powerlet site, but do see some at eBay.

    Thanks,
    Miles

PowerLet makes a kit that is all inclusive. All you have to do is remove the center cap and then silicon the power outlet in place.

I think that's where I got mine from too. He sells a lot of the Powerlet stuff as well as his own goodies. Got my speed bleeders from him as well.

Well based on all of your blurry photos, it looks like you need the Scott's damper, not the bike!

I just bought bikemaster a three plug acc and I am hooking it up to my joe rocket magic tank bag-it was only like $23. gps, heated gloves, sleuth escort radar detector-holds the worlds record and tells radar numbers type-100% sleuth-in Canada cops cannot tell if you have one unless they see it.-cost $500-I use it on my car and its the best there is.:attention:

Be warned, this kit is flawed and the ground wire reaches to a bolt that is not there on the 6th gen (and indeed it reaches nowhere at all). While it's possible that they have fixed this problem, I doubt it. I'm not saying not to buy it, but be aware you'll need to splice a longer wire onto the ground and route it all the way back to the battery or some other ideal ground point.

I have heard about that defect too, I think my cheap bikemaster three socket plug kit is a better idea-mounted in a tank bag- sometimes you sp:spit:end more but get less.

To the less experienced, this could present a problem, it wasn't for me. Good to let others know though.

I went to the Powerlet site again and looked under bike specific kits. Don't see a center triple clamp kit, but i do see a front left fairing kit 48". Am i looking in the wrong place? I don't mind having to lengthen the ground cable, but the fairing kit might be better anyways.

I am thinking about a way to mount my Android phone too (a Kyocera-Verizon Brigadier). Should i leave the center cap alone to mount a phone Ram mount, or get a phone mount that uses the 2 tank bolts?

If you have recommendations, please give brand and model, or web links.

I'd use the tank bolt one, but once again beware what the company tells you will fit - the one ram mount sent me did not fit my 6th gen. I just drilled out a hole in the correct place though, as it's not a load bearing bracket in any way.

When I get back to my computer (away from my desk at the moment), I'll send you links to what I got and photos of it mounted on my bike.

    Cheers

Long story short, Powerlet discontinued the center cap outlet, but as TNRabbit suggested, go to www.wiremybike.com and you'll find them there...http://www.wiremybike.com/vfr-specific-parts-2000-2001-vfr-parts-honda-vfr-steering-head-kit-p-470.html

The kit I got to hold my phone mounts to the brake or clutch lever perches, like so...

Rammount makes it difficult to find what you're looking for, they make you go through some step by step "wizard", Revzilla has it plain as day on their website and I believe it's the same price. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ram-mounts-universal-cell-phone-holder-kit

This is just what I was looking for. Thanks VFRWers!

The wife got me a GPS for Christmas in preparation for my cross country ride in May/June. I'll order this power kit from wiremybike.com, slap it on, and hit the road.
