My goal was to do 1k miles this weekend from Milwaukee area to the UP but the weather forecast stated it would be shitty all over the state today. Point being i left a day early and only did 648 miles. Not bad for my new to me VFR. She handled awesome. Many times I would look down and see me cruising effortlessly at 85-90 MPH. Riding around 200 miles before fill up is something I need to get used to. My old 70's Hondas would need a fill around 90-100 miles. 20150625_094438.jpg 20150625_105457.jpg 20150625_113138-2.jpg 20150627_114739.jpg 20150627_131401.jpg 20150627_181957.jpg 20150627_153138.jpg 20150627_133719.jpg 20150627_133713.jpg

I see you ran into my ex mother in law in photos 8 & 9. I didn't realize she had moved out that way. Tews. It only gets better.

Funny how the bike seems to run better and smoother around 80mph than 50-60mph, isn't it? I am looking forward to making some trips myself. Been a while since I have taken longer rides and ready to take one soon. Glad to see you are out putting some miles on it and enjoying your new ride.

P.S. most of your pics are upside down though

Thanks gigemVFR. I have no clue why some are randomly upside down. When I download they are right side up.

OK Tews19....awfully similar to a certain Stanley Cup Champion Number 19 Jonathan Toews. Any meaning here or just a coincidence?

Looks like a good time. How many miles a day did you actually do and how many hours in the saddle?

I'm planning a trip in August that is around 4K mi total. The first leg is 1200 approx mi. I'm trying to figure our when and wher to rest for the night. I have one location that is 661 mi.

    Thanks

I'll be following suit next month in August ... :)

As for Toews, he's a follow Winnipeger. I doubt his team / contract would allow him to ride a motorcycle. Some of those guys have terms and conditions in their contracts that prevent them from doing certain things that are considered "high risk" in the off season ... then again ... you never know. ;)
