Crashed my lovely 5th Gen. a week ago. Mostly faring damage. Don't have time to deal with it. Think I will just sell it as is. Somebody could fit new bodywork and a few other things for a nice 17k mi. fixer upper OR Somebody could buy it from me as is and part it out. Anybody interested????

Interested in parting out a few items or do you need to let it go whole?

If it's truly only plastic damage, it would be a mortal sin to part out a 5th gen with only seventeen thousand miles on it!

Stick, relax....think this threw....don't sell your bike.
Repair it with only 17k or you WILL regret it (not down the road) for a very long time

Yeah I know....mortal sin to part it out. I'm just gonna sell it as is. LONG STORY! Basically all the plastics except the big right side faring are toast. The front faring frame thing that supports the mirrors and instrument cluster is bent on left sid too. Many of the tabs and holes for faring fasteners broke so it's not just a paint job. I lost the front end in a tight left decreasing radius ( I knew I didn't like those Pilot Road 2's and shoulda changed them), slid across 10ft of asphalt into gravel, left peg grabbed and spun it around to crash ass first into bank taking out the rear faring, cowl and taillight. Didn't run but a minute on it's side. Tank, Delkavic CF pipe, Corbin seat, forks, bars and everything mechanical are all good. It will make a good buy for somebody that can fix her back up. I've even got a little one bike alum trailer you can tow it home on. Will send pics to anybody interested.

The '98 is catless for those that don't know. Would make a nice mod for '00 and newer.
Are the mirrors in good shape or trashed??

Im Back Boys! Just talked to DeltaVFR and looks like he's taking the grab bars. Corbin seat sold. Screen sold. Getting PMs for this and that. Damit I hate to start selling stuff off this good old 5th gen....so why doesn't somebody just make me an offer for the bike as is. Somebody good with Plastic bodywork could fix this up and paint it (tank is good) and have a nice bike for less than $2k.
AND only 17k original miles (15k by orig owner & 2k by me) with Delkevic CF pipe (like new), Cortech Bags, new pilot road 2s, Throttlemiester, New Ricks Rectifier, New Vortec +2 sprocket, helibars, etc.
Hell if somebody wants to tow it home I'll throw in a cool little alum single bike folding trailer for $300 (they cost $1800)
    Talk to me !!!
