I'm about to clean the chain on my new 800 and switch to the DuPont stuff. I wanted to get ALL that greasy mess off my bike so I was going to get the front sprocket area, too. I notice you have to pull the slave cylinder and supposedly replace the gasket. Anybody ever pulled it? What should I look for...I've read to make sure the piston doesn't fall out, don't operate the clutch...lol...what else?
FWIW, I decided not to pull it for now. I'd still be interested to hear more details if anyone does it.
You need to be super careful not to over-tighten the 2 long slave cylinder mounting bolts !!!!!! :dread:
Hey thanks. Does anything pour out when you remove it? The service manual mentions the gasket, but not that you have to replace fluid, so I wondered if you really needed a new gasket. Manual is not real clear...
