After 5 years of sitting. I bought my buddies 2003 800 with 7500 miles on it. I had to replace the tank and the fuel pump assembly.
I took out for a blaze today to run some gas thru it. After a high speed run on a long straight,(135mph) My F1 light came on. I pulled over and restarted it. And the light was off. Is there an issue? Thanks in advance

Wonder if you bike stored a code or not. 135 is just getting going, just don't do it on crowded roads

Ok......well I guess I should have stated that I went thru the whole bike. Fresh Tires.....new chain....three oil changes(don't ask) And a fuel pressure regulator valve....And I had on full leathers and a three mile straight down hill.....I was the only one on the road at the time.....I'm a responsible rider and am always cautious. Now maybe someone has an answer........

I read the shop manual but as far as storing the codes I'm lost.....The light came on, and when I restarted it. The light was off.

There is a procedure to call up the FI error codes so that you can figure out what your bike wasn't happy about. Given the work you've already done I'm guessing you have the service manual? The short version is you stick a piece of wire into a 2-pin connector behind the top fairing, turn the ignition and kill switch back on, and look at the FI light. If it is steady then no fault was recorded, if it blinks then you need to decode the blink pattern to identify the fault.

Did the Fi light come on at 135mph? If so you did well to spot that, I'd be looking as far down the road as possible! Was the bike running OK with the FI light on?

I was in the bubble so I saw it....could not tell about the performance because I had ear plugs in and shut it down asap.
Checking manual now..no blinks upon starting it just now.....reading on.
