I think that's what I might need.. My last ride of the season and noticed my headlights were bright when my bike was first started and then they went back to normal brightness after approx. 5 min. of riding on the highway.

Check out roadstercycle.com. The Super Mosfet kit for the VFR is high quality and a breeze to install, simple to mount and then solder the three yellow wires. Good luck.

Does your 1990 have a stator with 3 wires coming out and a battery? Yes? Then it will work.

Sure does did it on my 99. I got the big finned RR from the R1 off eBay.
You just need to alter the wires to connect it up but it's really simple.

I had one on my 06 and it was great peace of mind. Crimp and solder the three wires out of the regulator and then run the cable to the battery. The plug that goes to the original regulator just gets taped. You can get longer wires to make it easier to find a place to mount it. All told a little costly but I liked the expertise on the site with the videos and they were easy to deal with at Roadstercycles.com. I will do this on my new to me 99 come spring.
