Hi Vinny - welcome to the madhouse:welcome: When you get a chance please swing by the "introductions" part of the forum and say Hi to the rest of the folks on here - and maybe add a photo or two of your VFR. :focus: As for the LCD display - these things tend to be very resilient and expensive to replace - so don't assume the display is actually defective without doing some basic checks - so yes check fuses, but also make sure the connector on the back has not worked loose. That is always a possibility if the bike has had a recent drop or if someone has been working on the bike and forget to reinstate the connector fully. The waterproof connector on the back of the LCD panel is actually quite large and even if it looks like it is plugged in, it may not actually be fully pushed home. If in doubt remove the connector and reinstate it - and you should feel the connector pins locating. Good luck and let us know how you get on. SkiMad
lcd thanks for your help stripped it down did fuses and battery, everything else looks like spagette, so got a auto elec coming to sort it lol
hi there yes lcd all sorted for 55 quid bargin, turned out to be track and 2 joints( no the smoking type).
Under the petrol tank, on the left hand side as you sit on the bike, you'll see a the cables. I had exactly the same problem. The previous owner had never taken any care of the bike. I ended up removing the throttle bodies and soaking them in methaylated spirits for four days! Now they glide so smoothly.
