So I decided to go for a Saturday afternoon ride today because of the glorious 74° weather. Went west out of Simi and all the way through the back roads of Camarillo and out to the coast. Went south along PCH down to the ever popular Neptunes net. I don't usually go on weekends because it's always packed but decided to see what was happening today. As usual it was 98% Harley's with a smattering of other bikes, I had the nicest VFR there, but it was also the only one there.:beguiled:. Three guys rolled up on what were easily $70,000+, 30" front wheel baggers. They parked went inside and one of the bikes preceded to fall over! I had a pretty good laugh as it sat there tipped over leaking oil. The owner and his buddies eventually came out and picked it up. Then a Harley homie on some club looking bike started doing wheelies on PCH back and forth in front of NN. I'm not a fan of doing that, specially on public roads, but it's hard to deny its cool and fun to watch. Rode south to dekker canyon and over dekker to the 101 and back home to Simi. One week of owning the new VFR and have no complaints!

Nice! Sunday seems to be the more crazier day to be there and The Rock Store. We'll often go on a decent ride through some of the canyons like Decker and Latigo and then head up to NN for lunch, just before the HD and squid crowd arrive. This weekend is the weekend to go riding in So Cal that's for sure! If you didn't make it out today, Sunday for sure. Fellow members Lint and Duccmann are local to you so maybe PM them if you're ever looking for a riding partner for impromptu rides. When I get out to Malibu again, I'll be sure to let you know.

Nice, kinda cool to see where I've been when we did a road trip in 06. We came upon this by accident, we where hungry so thought ok this place should do, funny thing there wasn't really any bikes that made me notice when we where there, must of been a hit and miss thing.

I thought about getting up to the rock store but I've never been there so I went with what was familiar since I've been going to NN for my entire life. I should have checked who was local, my buddy bailed on me today because his bike wasn't working. Would love to get out again tomorrow but I'm heading to Texas for work until Saturday.

RVFR you got lucky! Surf was seriously up today too which puts a bunch more people out at NN since a local surf hot spot called county line is literally across the street.

So I'm new to the motorcycle community. I know some of the terms but squid is new to me, are squids cops?

There are many versions of the term "squid" but it appears to have originated in the surfing community. It was describing a young surfer who rode his board in a "squirrelly" manner, so squirrelly + kid = Squid. In the sport bike community it usually means a rider that is most typically sans proper riding gear and rides like they believe to be the Valentino Rossi.

In my circle of friends, cops were usually called spiders, as they always had their web set to catch an unsuspecting victim!

Probably safe now since super bowl.
Been going to MNEMONIC since early eighties when it was pretty much a little diner. Boy how it's changed.
Then after filming Point Break with Keanu Reeves it started getting the real popular.

I know the first Fast and Furious helped push its popularity too. Cold days are good there because it's empty and during week days when the wind is up there are usually a handful of wind surfers doing crazy stuff out there.

You've clearly never tried Campos right next door then. :congratulatory:

That Mexican market right there has some of the best marinated chicken ever.
