I'm 17 and have a 86' vf500f as my first bike. As I was pulling the carbs off to clean them, two S shaped metal tubes just fell out. I've looked at multiple diagrams and see that they belong somewhere. I've looked over the carbs multiple times and still can't find where they would connect. Anyone know where the hell they go? signal-2016-02-11-173055.jpg

    Hey VF500F

Firstly, Welcome to the World. There are numerous members here that can likely help you out with your question and honestly I wish I was one of them. I was looking at the parts fiche on Partzilla.com and it would appear that they are fuel tubes to join the carbs together. Local member Squirrleman on the site is one of our carb guru's so hopefully he chimes in. If not maybe shoot him a PM.

Good luck with the carbs and once again, Welcome to the site.

Here is the link to Partzilla site. Maybe the photo on the parts list may help give you an idea as to the fuel tubes locations.

Firstly, kudos for scooping that username; bit of a surprise it is available still.

Secondly, I have no idea. You're welcome, my pleasure.

    ^^^ Those guys know what's up ^^^

Post some pictures of the bike, including it's current state.

Brewt, that's why certain older guys who've been repairing carbs for a long, long time make themselves available to members here to help.

I currently provide a service for any interested VF/VFR owners with carb issues and will clean, repair, replace parts, modify, install jetkits, replace O-rings and fuel tubes or anything else for a very reasonable price, so how's that ??

Just PM me for expert service, please. :loyal:
