Bought my bike 'pre-scratched' so that I wouldn't worry about laying it down as I'm learning it - however, once I'm fully familiar with it I'd like to replace the broken plastics (in this case just about everything!) and so I've been looking around . Have only found this one source so far - http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/hondaz/VFR7501994-97.htm#price:

Their stuff is fiberglass, not plastic. Wait times may be quite a while, especially during summer race season.

Airtech is popular with guys who race. Fibreglass is easier to repair than ABS plastic. Plastic shatters. Airtech products are not predrilled ect but are quality products. Check them out at race meets.

When I had my Triumph Sprint RS, they did not make fairings for it. I sent my factory fairings to them. They then used it as a mold to make them. They gave me a free set in exchange. They were good quality. There weren't any holes drilled, nor were there many mounting tabs, but they were nice.

You'll get them as unfinished fiberglass with a white gel coat. Some sanding may or may not be required. If so, it would be light. Prep for paint, prime, spray, clear.

Best IMO to fit any fiberglass replacement panels or entire fairings prior to any paintwork.

A perusal sites concerning the painting of "fiberglass" body panels, will show the painting of same is somewhat more detailed than, even though it's not bad paint, Wal*Mart's red and black 99 centavos a pop house brand rattlecans.
