Been bombing around on my VF 500 and looks like I have to do the timing chain guides. Thing runs great till I hit 4000rpm under load then it rattles like a coffee can full of marbles until it's not under load. Because a lot of my friends got back into riding I needed something that wouldn't leave me stranded a few hundred km from home if something let go in the engine. Found a super clean 99 with 80,000km (50,000 mi) that was very well maintained and has never been dropped or abused. He already had a new chain put on, new tires, new brake pads and a resent oil change. Payed $2500cdn for it and I'm real happy with it.

    BUT IT'S RED (yuck)

The only thing I had to do was a quick rear caliper service on the rear slider pins as they were sticking a little.Came with a Corbin seat, Tool kit and manuals (Oem and shop manual) and all the parts for the grab handles.

Ok I've now had the bike for 2 weeks. I couldn't be happier it rides great, pulls like a fright train and sounds wild with the cams. Put almost 1000km on it and will be doing an oil change next fill up. Friend took it for a quick spin and fell in love with it. He had a Turbo Busa at one time and his current rides are an 2009 Aprilia 125gp 2 stroke and a 92 CBR900 Fireblade. Another Friend just got into riding and has a CBR600 F4i and he kept asking me why I liked the VF's and VFR's so much so I let him take it for a quick boot........ 3-4 minutes later he comes back with a shit eating grin on his face and says "Holy Fuck that thing has Torque, sounds like a freaking jet at 10,000rpm and is real comfortable to ride". Next day he's on Kijiji (Crag's list in Canada) looking for a VFR as his next bike.

Other then being RED (I hate red Vehicles) I'm not going to touch it other then regular up keep.
