Have wanted to do this for a while, to visit the bar and memorial garden for the late, great Joey Dunlop.
Rode from Paisley to Cairnryan (Scotland) then took the stenna ferry across to Belfast (Northern Ireland).

£40 for bike and rider as it's classed as a day trip.

Visited the bar and memorial garden this afternoon on the bike, staying close enough to walk to the bar this evening for a few pints.

Will take photos inside the bar tonight.

Just came across this in one of your recent posts in which you disposed of Drifting Along. This is superb! I am jealous. Would I ever like to have a pint of Guinness and a tot of Jameson there...

Nice! Been almost 2 decades since I've been to Ireland. Didn't get to "Joey's Bar" but I did hit one of my other meccas...the Guinness Brewery! Looking forward to the interior pics.

Could't imagine riding like Joey did on the rubber of his days. The sound of the 2 smokers is awesome.

Was awesome guys. To be fair it was about 100 miles riding each way, plus ferry so easily doable as an overnight.
Ireland is awesome, was a privilege to visit "yer man's" bar.

Yeah it's a good vid - kind of funny the part where they said Honda made him get a haircut :glee: Very inspiring when they showed him winning the TT at age 48, but it was also depressing how it all ended so quickly for him.

A visit to Joey's bar is definitely on my to-do list too !
We have a replica of The Joey memorial statue over here on the TT course on the mountain, here's a couple of pics from when VFRW members divingpete and skimad visited the island last year, sure they won't mind me posting !

I have a pic somewhere of me sitting on Joeys bike when I was a kid, apparently I broke the fairing whilst trying to climb on it ! Whoops !
