Hey all, I am asking this due to other posts in the 8th generation forum. I have a F model! I wish I would have bought the deluxe with the suspension options. But, it would be interesting to know how many of us here have the deluxe or standard "F" model. Again I will start of the 35 or more of us. I will be F model #1

Seeing as the USA is the only country in the world to get the options. The rest of us get the deluxe model as standard I think there will be more deluxe model owners. It will still be interesting to know.

Fe is my model designation. Deluxe no1 I will be.

Well I have a deluxe, but if I can't be number one then I am not playing, so there.

Number 4 here, UK therefore FE for me too. I'd still have bought one of those even if we'd had the standard option.

I chose the standard model. My front suspension is just fine as it came so I don't need to adjust it. I did adjust the rear very slightly so the suspension is a non-issue.

I can remember to cancel my blinkers and have yet to hear anything positive about VFR traction control. ABS is something I've never had so I'm comfortable not missing it.

So, in my mind, the value of a deluxe is not there for me. For those that see the value, no criticism. They're both fun machines and that's what counts.

Would probably vary dealer to dealer, state to state etc.
As Fink says, we get no choice (other than to be ripped off price wise as usual.) I ride 2 up sometimes, like just being able to click up the preload a couple of notches for my tiny lassie on the back. Never had heated grips before and now would not be without them. I've got the T/C on but it has never kicked in. The self canceling indicators appear fine to me, yes they may occasionally cancel early but to me that is probably the lesser of two evils of forgetting to turn off. (Yes, we ALL done that at some point.) ABS was a must for me this time round, not getting any younger and back carrying a pillion means the option to grab a load of brake without locking up in an emergency is nice to have as a last resort. Used an ABBA stand on my ZX10R and it was fine, but life is so much easier with a center stand. So all in all I would probably paid the extra had there been a choice.

Paintwork on the 8th gen is gorgeous in the sunlight.

The MSRP price difference was $1000 US dollars ($12,500-standard, $13,500-deluxe).

You probably should have made this a Poll thread, and only asked US owners to chime in.

    Deluxe here.
    It was originally $1,000 ($13,499 deluxe v. $12,499 base).
    Now it's $2,000 ($12,799 '15 deluxe v. $10,799 '15 base and $12,299 '14 deluxe v. $10,299 '14 base). I first noticed the price change on Honda's USA website in May 2016.

As I remember seeing after I bought mine and finding out that 2 models where available in the states. It was around $1300.00 from the standards original price of $12,999. But I could be wrong. The adjustable fork aftermarket are more than the total upgrade of ABS, Front forks, heated grips, self cancelling turn signal and center stand. A bargain in after thought.

I'm glad I didn't even know there were 2 models. Got the standard new for $7,500 out the door. Don't need heated grips, traction control is not my cup of tea either. ABS would have been nice. As an old rider I actually prefer to go regular.
Don't do much wrenching anymore so don't need or want center stand.
    Perfectly satisfied with standard!

I think that you are right Dave. If I knew what a poll thread is and how to do it. Also I did not know prior that the US only had the option. Thanks.

 No worries, Love mine. It's like telling your wife after getting married you wished that she was a blonde instead of a red head.:) Things change after that! "Oh come on darling, you are still beautiful! Don't call the attorney!"
