Those packages look great. Anybody in Austin have a big back yard to pitch a tent for those who can't pony up a thousand pesos to see a race?

Well the wife and I have another big vacation planned for next year but I'll see if I can swing COTA next year too. All depends on the funds of course.

where did you find tickets that cheap? I emailed them and all they would send me was a copy of the $999 and up packages. I would love to go see the races and bring my son with me , but I had given up hope at the higher prices. If I can find cheaper tickets, I might try to make it to your little party.

Thanks, Solarninja, that's a lot better pricing than I could find. Which one seems to be the most popular for this crowd? The cycle corral seems like it might be interesting. Have you been there for the races? where's the best seating?

I havent been to cota since its been finished, my old roommate did a lot of the site surveying when it was being built and saw it a bit when it was a dirt mound...but i believe the main grandstands is kinda the central hub, most of the gift shops and stuff will be there, and its where the start/finish line is...but its also on the main straight on the track... personally i think the twistys are the exciting bit of the race...in contrast the grandstands have bleacher seats...as opposed to a patch of grass to sit on

Do I lose all VFR credibility if I haul the bike out there from Alabama in the back of my truck? Seems like camping and watching races with this group would be a hoot.
