Hi everyone, just picked up an 02' VFR800 and needed a mount for my phone. I read through multiple posts on here for different options for the RAM mount system since the stem mount does not fit well into the 6th gen stem. I might have a solution that I'd like to share. Since the rubber stem provided by RAM does not fit snug, I decided to give it some extra girth by applying RTV sealant. I put the rubber stem into my clamp on my bench, worked some RTV around to get it to close to a 20mm diameter as possible, let it dry, and mounted it to the VFR, tightened it down. Voila, it worked. I'll report back with a longterm report to see if it stays put.

Doesn't the RAM mount fit in the stem hole? Lucky I saw this because I was in the mood of buying one...

If you mean fit in the hole and drop in without any bit of it being snug, then yes, it fits. Lol.

Buy it, chop it down to size, add some RTV for support, and you'll be good.
