Anyone changed their oil and seals on Showa 41mm forks lately? Found a set of forks off a 2000 for cheap and thought about swapping out mine for the '00 while I went through the originals...don't even know if 5th gen forks would fit the stock trees...any thoughts?

The trick is the lowers, don't work for the 4th gen brakes, but for the most part the insides do, but while it's apart I recommend getting the correct springs for your weight at the least . better yet, just send them off to Jamie http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/

There would be no problem fitting the 5th gen fork tubes into 4th gen triples (they're both 41mm), but you would only be able to fit the entire 5th gen fork if the tube spacing is the same, which I doubt would be the case.

The lower bushing on the 4th gen forks is a bit too loose a fit to the outer tube, causing alot of slop, and i used paper shims in back of it to improve it and reduce the excess clearance. The issue was mentioned in a few threads back when 4th gens were new.

I would think super hawk forks would be much easier/better swap than 5th gen forks.
