I ended up making my own for my bicycle out of an Otter Box with belt clip and adjustable mount. Otter box has great protection for the iPhone and it's belt clip can be attached to the adjustable mount for a very secure mount. Belt clip locks in their case which a combination of a plastic frame with a rubber outer protector.

Get a ram mount ball system. I have the x grip and it holds phone perfectly. I can rotate and turn to any angle. And the ball mount is screwed into where the handlebars and forks pivot on the frame ( not sure if that's the yoke?) works great. I can navigate. And it has a thumb screw for easy removal. I also ran a wire there so i can charge phone if needed

I built this stem mount for $5.
One long SS screw, 2 rubber stoppers, a T-nut to anchor into the rubber, and a fender washer.

I designed this mount in SketchUp and printed it out in 3D. Very sturdy.
You're welcome to have the build file for printing.

Next I bought the Quad Lock Stem mount kit for my iPhone 6s.
    Super slim case.

    This is what I have:
it mounts low in the middle between the bars with a
clear view of the gauges, rock steady and tight.
Horizontal or vertical with no real vibration/distortion.
Never even had to do a revision or mod after the first try too.

Love it, cant imagine using any of that RAM crap.

So here's the best set up. Holds iphone with case of choice ( life proof). There are different ball diameters so get correct sizes for your x-grip. Also a nice feature is i have a ball in my truck , boat, and tractor. So the xgrip mounts on all of them. Keeps my phone safe and secure and readily visible. As I said i also have an outlet on the vfr for charging my device. I have a USB adapter I bought on ebay. No vibration and holds phone tightly. Great system

I have the X- Grip on my 99 for the simple reason of I watched a guy crash his CBR into a ditch and the phone stayed put. It works, very well.

Same set up i have ootv. Best ive seen. Im sure there are other systems. But for me RAM Works great And it's interchangeable with all their other stuff. And you can see all your gauges and phone at same time. And it doesn't interfere with tank bag.
