OML SMH I'd love to be able to pass some info along, but man that would be starting to make a mess of it here, not sure we should after a certain thread post ran things into the ditch. Bottom line IMO is they are some what inferior, but then maybe not for what's available for the money these days. Jury is still out , but one dude swears by em.. and in that was the weirdness. Depending on what your looking for is the question. More HP? won't happen. just want to replace yours with something better? yea I wouldn't. Best bet today IMO at the moment is get your hands on a good 98-00 5th gen exhaust header. Now lets hear from some others ;)

    Talk to me.

I just got my new VFR and I want to reduce its weight, increase HP, and improve aesthetics with a can that is small enough so the wheel is exposed.

I was looking at the Ixil L3x pipe... but if you're telling me theres better options out there by looking at previous gens, lmk! I'm all ears!

Don't have any info on the black widow exhaust you're showing but I ran across a post on the "Honda VFR800 Owners" Facebook page by Nismo Capri and he bought one of these. There is a video in his Facebook post showing the can installed. For $19, yes you read that correctly US $19, the exhaust sounds not bad. No idea what the quality is like but the original poster on Facebook seemed quite impressed. The post on Facebook shows the can installed but it not completely tightened down so it looks like it vibrates a bit and moves when the owner revs the bike and he mentions this fact further down in his post.

    Check it out FWIW.

Agreed. However, the 2014/2015 Staintune is disappointing. Long ugly pipe. Anyone think of any short stub pipe that would increase power and look good? Again, looking at the IXIL LX3 at this point.

    Thanks

Awe,, well H that not good, I've heard this before, interesting they took that direction. Good news is from what I've heard, not experienced, so maybe some one here can confirm this is, the 5th gen bolts up to a 8th gen. ;)

There's an entire thread on almost everything ya need to make your bike be the fastest, most economical, and best sounding machine on the planet. This guy is so informative that he even talks to himself. A couple of detractors but what the heck, its the internet.

Otherwise there are a shitload of folks with free advice on how you should spend your money.

If you want to show off your wheel, you need a high mount, not a tiny muffler.

If you happen to have the link to that thread specific to the 8th gen, i'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

There isn't much listed specifically for the 8th gen yet, but I have seen VFR800x and VFR800fi high mounts fitted with great results and minimal effort. Staintune DOES currently offer an 8th gen high mount right now though.

Are you saying I can fit an aftermarket exhaust from the 6th gen models on this bike with all the same hookups (connectors/tubes etc)?

No, the VFR800fi is the fifth gen and the VFR800x is the Crossrunner.

I have the Delk mini carbon - here's a vid of mine. It looks a lot like the black widow. It cuts slightly over 7 pounds compared to stock and according to dyno on Delk's website the bike gains just under 3 hp. If is VERY loud without the baffle - which I love - I've yet to try it with the baffle - one drawback is you have to disconnect the can from link pipe to reinstall the baffle.

    Hey Gator,

I saw your videos online before, I was actually suspect about Delkevic after hearing about the Black Widow, I thought maybe they're the same company? Thanks though, sounds beastly.

It appears that Staintune isn't currently offering a 2014 high mount. Hopefully they are working on a new design that fits tighter to the body lines than the last one they offered.
