Anyone fitted this on their VFR800?
Can't find the diagnostic port to connect it in.

Does NOT use VFR Diagnostic port, (bad choice of words in ad). On the left side of your bike you will find a cable coming from transmission area. Connector should match your device. Undo connector and connect matching connectors on GearTronic unit. Display will have it's own cable and there should be a pass through cable and connection.

The only one I find is this one coming out of transmission.
Same amount of cables, but not the same connector.
Any idea if this is the one?

It's been a few years since I installed my HealTech indicator. You might want to Google HealTech if you can't find the installation instructions.

I must apologize for mis-leading you, I just looked at the manual for the Heal-Tech unit and it does connect to the Diagnostic port! My bad. Port can be found under the RIGHT side fairing, up near the ECU. It is normally not connected to anything, so it shouldn't be hard to find. The 6th gen VFR's don't have a gear position sensor, so these units use the speed of the bike to "learn" which gear you are in. I do remember that the HealTech always indicated the last gear when you stop, which was annoying. The 8th gen now has a true indicator.

Here is the link to your model's manual: Download PDF manual

From 2006 there is a connector, mine is 05 and has no vacant connector to plug into.
I have stripped the whole bike and looked everywhere, no place to connect.
Could the one coming out of transmission have any information to my thing?

My 6th gen was a 2003, and I distinctly remember not using the diagnostic port but a cable with matching connectors on the left side. Did you purchase the GearTronic? I read their manual which says to use diagnostic, if not, I would look into the older HealTech, that hooks up to the speed sensor (not the transmission).

I will check the wiring diagram and the HealTech manual for you tomorrow.
