I realise this is a regular question (sticky throttle) but my problem is that I can't use the old cables as a reference because they didn't exist when I picked up this project bike. I have no spring back at all on the throttle having fitted new cables and I guess the solution is fairly simple.

    1. Please can you advise where I position the bar end cable holder (e.g pointing up at 12 o'clock , towards the front , towards the rear) again this question comes from conflicting advice on the net. I assume the pull cable (which opens the butterflies) is to the front as is usual).

    2. Please can someone describe the route of the cables with reference to the front forks and various brackets.

    3. Should I get the pull cable working first so that it's springing back and then the push cable.

    Thanks for helping a newbie

Your best reference is to the Honda service manual, where cable routing is clearly indicated in easy-to-read line drawings.
