Got a really good deal on a pair of 1994 CBR600F2 forks that I plan on eventually putting on the 1986 VFR700F Track Bike. It currently has a set of 1993 forks that I completely rebuilt with Gold Valves that knew I would then use on another 86 VFR project I am building (thread coming soon).

The fork caps on the 94 forks are hammered with one of the adjustment screws frozen.

Does anyone know if the F3 fork caps are interchangeable with the '94 caps (I realize the valving is more than likely different) to increase my search chances? Or, does anybody have a set of either for some reason to sell? Or, are they repairable? (Jamie?)

I would really like to get these buttoned up and move on since I am in a fork rebuilding state of mind right now...

2 sets of VF500F forks and the 94 forks. 1 set of 500 forks is going on a VTR250F project that is coming together nicely. The other 500 forks I am doing just because I am already doing a 1 set and I have a 500 project for my wife that I am collecting parts for (another thread coming soon-ish).

Any wisdom, advice, smart ass comments or parts?

Same size forks so shouldn't see why not as they have the same part number.

Fork caps were not available separate from the whole "DAMPER, FR". 94 F2 part number is not the same as the 95 F3 part number (I'm sure because of small changes including damping rates).

Forks or just caps? Enlighten me.

The only caps I see don't have the adjustment screws.

    These are cartridge forks.

Have a look at these links.
Top cap bikes that share the same part

    Top Cap part 16

Yes they are available separately (Top Caps) as my friend purchased one several years ago. You are talking about the caps and not the damper rods? Which are different and have a different part number. The top alloy preload/ damping section can be unscrewed from the damping rod . As far as I am aware the alloy parts are the same The adjustment screws can be dismantled.

Sorry, I'm mixing up some terms. #13 (Damper, Comp) is what I would need if ordering new. The internals at the top of Damper is what I need as far as used parts. I have these separated from the caps (#16) but one of the damping adjustment screws is hammered and frozen.
