Saturday just passed I joined a VFR list ride with 5 other riders all I've been riding with on OzVFR rides for the last 13 years to the day, the ride and company was great but on this weekends ride found myself being the last on a VFR with the others riding on 3 * BMW S1000RRs, a Honda CBR600rr and lastly a mates brand new BMW S1000XR he's still running in.

So when does a "VFR" ride day become just a days ride ?

I'd say that was just a nice ride with folks you knew fairly well enough to have a good time with. . if the use of the letters used were " VFR" in the title or of such to get together, then there ya have it, it's still a Very Fine Ride day ;)

To answer the question, if all of the members of the ride have VFRs but ride their "other" bike or traded in their VFR for a different bike, the only one on a VFR is part of a VFR ride.

That being said, most of the time I ride one of the VFR 800s but on occasion I ride my Ducati 900SS, since I consider it a Very Fun Ride, to me it's still a VFR ride!

That's a nice way of looking at it.

Perceptive question, Two have just sold theirs with one some on VFRD may know him as zRoYz who sold his well developed Gen 6 to another OzVFR member, 2 others have theirs listed for sale on bikesales sites and one has no intention of selling his 5th Gen but with around 100k miles wants to limit its rides to multi day tours.

It was mentioned across the linked Sena broadcast groups when they heard mine some said they already missed their collective V4 notes winding up the steep mountain pass, mind on the slab they also remarked how good the BMWs electronic cruise control works even so much as setting the same speed kept the same speed.

Reminds me of riding through a valley one summer day and I was getting rather hot. Looked down at the temp. and it was 100° with no wind. No amount of speed cools the body off at that temp.

A VFR ride no longer a VFR ride when you quit riding your VFR. ; )

I met three other guys on this forum when I first joined up several years ago. All four of us have VFRs. Or I should say had. We started an annual second weekend in September ride, just the four of us. Has remained just the four of us, except that one of them was often working in which case it would be three. But it has remained a closed group. Now there is only one VFR in the group. The third being sold off just a couple weeks before Christmas.

But we did not call it a VFR Ride. I are the a RAT PAK so it is the RAT PAK Ride. Looks like this will be a three bike ride from here on. The last bike to be sold was not replaced with a bike. It was replaced with a fooken cage.[IMG]

Regarding the VFR note. I'm the only one riding a VFR in the group I ride with. It was commented recently by another rider, about the nice note from my VFR as I powered out of a tight corner asending a twisty mountain road. I have a standard muffler too, he must have been close but I didn't see him behind me. I rearely see a 5th gen on the roads around here, goes for later models too. So I don't get to hear what my ride sounds like from another riders perspective.

I like that "very fine ride". :)
