I reached out last night and was able to touch bases with BP however he was in travel mode with Easter Family stuff. He needed photos and of course, batteries on my camera were dead. He is in travel mode to get home today and I have the pix, but I also only have one day off and would like to get the bike put back together for Monday morning commute.

I had discovered a coolant leak which I can fix easily once I get a new gasket for the water pump. It will be a bit of a pain but easy enough. While dealing with that, I was looking about and could not determine what this thing was in the Service Manual. Therefore the reach out. Since then I think I have determined this component is the front ABS Modulator.

My question is this. The metal tubing coming out the side of this modulator is not totally secure. It can be moved in and out of the spot it enters the modulator by maybe 1/32 " maybe less. But it definitely moves. IS that proper or should that tube or whatever it is, be tight?

Thanks for the input regardless BP. You may be back home in time to lend a thought to this yet.

Manual says it is just a harness guide. If you have a look underneath the harness you will see its bolted in.

On page 16-33 the service manual calls it a harness guide.

Well there y go Fink. You are the man of the hour. I went out to look and sure as hell. I should have been able to see that myself but guess I just didn't look close enough. Much appreciated. I will just put it all back together and won't worry a bit.

In the mean time I am not worried too much about the coolant leak on my garage floor. The wife's dog comes by to clean it up quite quickly. I will order that gasket along with some fairing clips later today.

Just goes to show, thing are not always as they appear at first glance. It looked like that ware actually was connecting to something within the ABS Modulator. When I could move it, that sent up alarm bells. It was later in the evening so I was just flipping through the service manual looking for photos of that modulator and reading not much. I guess I missed that passage in the manual Toe. Thanks guys. I have beer in the fridge for both of you.

Ditto on the not allowing animals to consume antifreeze!
Unless you don't like the dog.

I guess not everyone understands my warped sense of humour. I am very aware of that. Sorry boys. So...should I avoid using turpentine on my neighbours cat's ass too?

Believe me, I was very quick to clean that up when I got home yesterday. The dog was out to great me right away.

I don't think I have come across a dog I have not liked....well that shepherd that had a good grip on my ass when I was running from the police maybe...but I hate cats with everything I have. That said, I would not even give antifreeze to a cat...or even a rat. I am aware of the painful and slow agonizing death that comes form the organ failures brought on by antifreeze. People should really be more careful with that stuff. So many really don't care.
