    Seattle Craigslist Find: Low-mileage 2003 VTR1000F

    Saw this purusing Craigslist tonight - figured I'd post for anyone looking for a hardly-used Honda Big Twin.

    Superhawks are ridiculously good bikes, only marred by a tiny tank. Devastating backroad and mountain weapon; the huge torquepeak sits right at 6K RPM, which happens to coincide with 100 MPH. High-speed roll-ons are killer.

    RC51 at least had gear drive cams. Too tall a first gear for my tastes, loved the build quality of it, with the upper triple tree and tasty blue anodizing. All the super-chicken bikes I have ever seen/ridden down here have been dawged out to chit.

    they had some tasty bits RC51 - but supposedly advertised as an OCD motorcycle mechanic, why the hell would you leave a nasty bent up brake lever of all things. I mean if the ball end has some rash (like mine on my 91) its ok. But Fu* - that lever is bent to chit. CL is hit and miss really, you have to sort through alot of bastards selling garbage to find a diamond imho.

    He is saying 750 in the add, but yea, hmm 1200 too, wow. ????? Even though I loved my CBX then, that one looks like one hell of a lot of work. even spooky. But that vfr 750 Hmm..

    I rode with a guy that had one from work. I had the 2003 Suzuki sv1000s at the time that competed with the super hawk. The Suzuki had 3 more hp and weighed 13lbs lighter. Build wise the Suzuki had more adjustment and looked better built which was unusual per Honda prides themselves on that. All in all a bike that weighs under 425lbs and has between 110-113hp with a twin is super fun. I added the optional front cowling that made the Sv less of a naked street fighter and made me happier. I did not like the side radiator that was on the Honda like some of our generations VFR's. They make no sense to me due to air flow.
