My '03 Vtec has a blanked off light switch, I on the other hand would like to be able to switch the lights off. Does anybody know of a switch I can swop in that has the switch fitted. Would for instance an earlier model year fit, or should I make my own and fit to the inside of the fairing?

I don't understand why you would want to be able to disable a safety feature of your bike. In Canada, "ALL" vehicles came from the factory with daytime running lights that were automatic since around 1989 or there abouts. Originally the headlights came on but now they have dedicated lights. They missed the boat in that they did not require tail lights to come on as well which the bikes d0. But hey, its your bike. I am not aware of a specific switch but I am sure with some thought, you would be able to come up with a workable solution.

    Switch it for a 2002model

Randy. From 2002/2003 all bikes switched to lights on all the time.

Was not aware of that. Now I am going to have to see if the Canajun bikes had daytime running lights same time as cars and trucks did. But in any event, I don't know why someone would want to be able to disable their lights. I know we wanted to do this to our police vehicles for covert reasons but otherwise, I can't see a reason to do this.

    hanks Fink.

No sadly not a private eye, just sell car parts. I just like the ability to turn off my lights. There are times when it is handy. But that said, having checked out the wiring diagram there is no lights feed to the switch. Therefore, the question is null and void. Thanks guys.

All the CHP's at Uni that work the front hill entrance all have the ability to shut off all their lights to hide in the shadows-
    Both BMW's and Kawi's
    So it's definitely doable

On my little Honda XL125 I had many many years ago, the original owner had put a toggle switch on the head and tail lights so he could switch them off. I used this "feature" a few times to sneak around undetected, nothing malicious mind you, just having fun in dirt lots that were technically "off limits". You could essentially do the same if you intercept the power leads to the head lights.

On my Sl100 friends and I would tear the neighborhood up at night with disconnected lights chasing each other.

Thanks Fink, I'll get the wiring diagram blown up and printed in a larger scale and have a second look. Couldn't see it on the small handbook copy, can I blame old eyes?
