checked the spark and changed the plugs. that's fine. it's gravity fed but still only seems to run on 3 cylinders at idle. when I rev the engine the exhaust blows out normal and seems to run fine. new to this bike so any help would be great. coming from having a 05 gsxr750.

I recommend remove carburetors for thorough cleaning cleaning, and fuel tank also. I fought with my 500 for quite a while before I got it right. Running on two or three cylinders it was.

it's also gravity fed with the vacuum line bypassed. it drops plenty of gas so I thought it was working fine.

Use Search. Read. Search. Read. Ask questions about what you don't understand (after searching and reading).
Then ask "the Master" if he did all the things that you read about.

    Then read some more.

And then , yes, do it yourself (if you have the tools and skills) so you know it's done right.

Yes after my own experience, I would in particular have a close look at the slow jets. They have such a small orifice, and clog quite easily.

unless you've poked a .012" steel wire or guitar string through the slow jet you can't be sure it's clean ! Inspect the plug from the lazy cylinder, and if it's black, you might have a leaky float needle.
