Highway 1 through Big Sur

Just in case anyone is planning to make the beautiful run up through Big Sur. This one is going to be closed for a long time.

"F" was so looking forward to hitting up that area. Thanks for the heads up, the reading I had found never gave a clear picture other than they're working on it. One read had it they making a detour of sorts.

 

I do wonder if there were any motorists oot for an early evening drive buried in that somewhere?

 

There was one small news article in which two harleydoods went missing on the same day as the converging mudslides occurred. Millions of years from now scientists will discover them as fossils and wonder about what they ate and how they reproduced.

 

Just follow the oil oozing oot of the dirt pile to locate the Harleys.

 

My first thought was about motorists, but they would most likely be buried at the ocean's edge after getting blasted from the side.

 

Holy crap, that looks like it could be closed down for years. Isn't that near where R3 is scheduled this weekend?

Until I see this with my own eyes, it may just be an internet ruse to keep the riff-raff oot of the neighborhood.

 

I don't buy that. Obviously the majority of the oil would have been lost to the roads on their ride prior to encountering the slide.
