    Trip to London

I am having to go to London for an interview in a few days.

Does anyone know of somewhere fairly cheap and decent to stop but also safe to leave my bike.

You'd get a quicker answer if you asked on the U.K. VFR forum.

    Been and back,

what an experience that was, bloody rained and snowed just as I got to London.

Didn't have a clue where I was going, the directions I'd printed off where almost useless as kept mentioning compass directions, I'm on a bloody bike not in a plane, next time I'm nicking my wifes sat nav. Got lost going in and totally lost getting out due to roads blocked.

I'd not been for a long time and forgotten how mad everyone down there is, credit due to all the riders who ride around London all day and my hat off to all the couriers, great job lads but your bloody mad. I thought I was bad at times for cutting through traffic and sometimes caught mirrors but these guys must have slimming bikes that breath in through tight gaps and they don't hang about. Tried to keep to the side when I saw one coming as going slowing with being lost.

All in all wasn't too bad an experience.

Just be friended a Londoner who is now my local mechanic.

What he doesn't know about bikes and that ain't worth worrying about.

Now I have the missus hooked on the bike bug, she has all the kit and twisted my arm to by another VFR 750 FV, only a few years younger but a lot less mileage. Was in show room condition until I rod it back from Wales in the poring rain. My bikes are well and truly used, I do try to look after them but everyday use makes that hard. She know as much about bikes as anyone else and is truly into the whole thing.

We off to the Welsh international bike show too. To think that only a few years ago she would have never even have got near a bike now is considering getting her license.

What more can a man ask for, its great.
