'02 VFR800 non-ABS. Crashed it back in Dec '05. all plastic damage and the front subframe.
Cracked both the front and rear halfs of the speedo housing.
I eyed the circuit board over real good and it looked fine save for a very small ding in the back of the tach needle. Didn't look to be a problem and the tach still swings free. Put it together and all the gauges work fine. Except the tach.
The tach sits just over 2k at idle then goes Down against the peg as the revs rise.

I've plugged in a digital tach to the wires plugging and the tach works correctly, just the gauge itself that doesn't work.

So I don't want to spend the $450 to replace that circuit board cause I'm a cheapskate and I think that it might be repairable.

    comments, suggestions?

There was a complete gauge cluster for a 6th Gen on Ebay recently.
