    Clutch problems

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 2001 vfr problem; when I engage the clutch lever and put it in gear, it dies. I've tried shuting off the engine while in gear, then I engaged the clutch, and it still won't move? It seems strange because I rode two days ago.

    Any solutions?

May be a faulty side stand cut-out switch.

Wouldn't I still be able to move it with the engine off while the clutch engaged?

In gear, engine off, clutch lever pulled, you should be able to roll the bike around. If not, check:

    - Chain binding
    - Rear brake locked
    - MC full
    - Bleed clutch

    Problem fixed!

I let it idle for about 10 minutes just to heat up the motor and kept working the clutch lever...and presto! The clutch works...(the clutch plates were stuck together) I received the advise from Redryder on ClubVFR.

Thank you for the advise...I bled the clutch, and it works much better:smile:
