I did the removal of the rubber elbow and It sounded cool and had more guts.
Then being the Tool I am I drilled the top cover to "get more air"

Oh crap now I have hesitation and and A ton more carb sound (duh).
It looks like I am also sucking too much HOT air in and that is causing the issue with stumble.

Anyone got a spare cover they want to part with?

Looks like it may be time to bust out some fiber glass and patch some holes.

More air requires more fuel = larger jets & a dyno would help to get it right. Or the duct tape would put you back where you started, watch ebay for an unmolested cover or air box.

If you do something like that again get a product called plastic weld from an auto parts store it does wonders.

I'm sure there is, BUT....its one of those things to do in small steps then test ride. Don't do any thing you can't fix w/ duct tape:biggrin:

i removed the airbox completely and cut strips of air filter to fit in the slots of the intake..... A LOT more sound. A LOT more acceleration but loss of power in the mid range and after about 45mph. so it wasnt really worth it. put the airbox back on and now run with no snorkle but everything else. love it and keeping it until i can figure out how to custom make an intake. :D

    Puckstr,
I have one, complete with K&N filter
PM me if you want it
I was about to put it on ebay
they are a discontinued part and with the filter a new one would cost ~$250.00
what would you give me for it?

The snorkel is there to enhance and smooth mid range - why screw with it - unless your going racing?
