MM93 is holding back .... I really like this new found 'consistency' he has been going for over getting the victory every time.

MM2 (More Mature Marc Marquez) I think he is more interested in improving the bike than making the fastest time. MV though has really taken to that Yamaha. I really think he'll be battling it out for the title this year, barring any injuries I think he has a good chance of taking the title this year.

Yup, last year Repsol Honda really screwed themselves with that engine - looks like they're making progress this year though.

And yes, MV will be a contender this year - but I think MM93 is going to take it again if he can stay consistent.

MM is maturing. The engine still needs a lot of work though. MV is going to be fun to watch.

    I was shooting with a Sony RX10 mk11 at 200mm.

I was very close to the first corner after the straight, so must have only been 30 feet from the bikes. I have done some cropping to get a bit closer in.

The Sony takes better video than pics, so I mainly use it for 4K video in S-Log2 on an electronic stabilized gimbal. No one is allowed to take any video of the bikes during a test, so I only used the Sony for pics. I have to say that I also own a Canon EOS 6d with the new 70-200mm and 16-35mm L lenses and the Sony makes the Canon look rubbish for stills. So much so that I'm now selling all my Canon gear and just using Sony from now on.

Here's one I got of Jack after he came out of the pit lane. He saw me then did a wheelie.

Nice photos Owned. Sony still cameras have come a long way. I'm looking at their tiny DSC RX 100IV for a pocket camera. I have several Canon 5DMK3's and a bunch of glass, they are very good and work horses.

Not a bad day for Honda yesterday, 4 bikes in the top 10. JL finally made it there too, and interesting to see Jonas Folger (P4) and Rins (P6) in there as well. Yes I know, it's only testing but good to see more the the status quo in the top 10. Looking like this years rookies are doing well, better than Tito Rabat at the moment. Not knocking Tito, just saying he hasn't done to well in the MotoGP class.

What made Tito so good in the Moto2 class was that he could pound out thousands of laps at the Almeria circuit on a machine very similar to what he raced....he can't do that on the same machinery for the MotoGP class.

After 3 days testing at Philip Island, Maverick Vinales is the fastest and most consistent rider, despite Marquez having a bit of a 'Rossi moment" with Vinales he just keeps on putting in solid and quick laps

Marquez did 270 laps to try and get Honda an engine sorted before they're sealed, despite being 2nd fastest he's still not happy with the power delivery, Crutchlow described the Honda as being fast in a straight line but so much rider effort is required to make the thing turn that it's self cancelling

Marquez was also disappointed that the new Honda was no more rider friendly than the 2016 bike

Lorenzo is up from 17th at Sepang to 7th at Phillip island, Vinales new team mate Rossi spent the time messing around with practising starts, bike swaps, etc that he ended up 12th fastest and is "not very happy"

Meanwhile Michael Dunlop has announced he's joining Suzuki for the TT with the strict understanding that "2nd and 3rd are of no interest", Michael is also going to race a big Suzuki stocker and possibly super sport

WSB is set to start this weekend, both Johny Rea and Chaz Davies sound happy with the bike and both are mentally ready for a hard season .... should be good

Just to remind you all what Michael Dunlop did last year, here's his fastest lap last year in the Senior TT

I'll give it to Chaz this year, it's goin to be a tight fight but feel it's his year--- even though I'm a huge JR fan.

    Hope Mav spanks everyone's butt----

Yamaha used Rossi as a test mule at Phillips Island. All kinds of changes to the bikes, trying to conserve tires. In the end, he was tired himself, he he. I guess having all of his experience is a curse at times.

Race 1 was excellent, racing all the way, really showed up MotoGP

Race 2 should be the same :triumphant:

At the end of practice Jacobson was on pole ... Sofoglu out with a broken wrist will make the season even more interesting
