They also don't have to undo the nut, pull the front wheel spindle through, then deal with the discs when putting the front wheel in, line the spindle up and put the nut on without cross threading it

Guy Martin lost a TT because they crossed the back wheel nut up at the first tyre change at the end of lap 2, when he came in at the end of lap 4 it took nearly 2 minutes to get the back wheel out ...

Ducati Consider Lorenzo Resignation, Promote Spanish Press

    Ducati Consider Lorenzo Resignation
    ADVERTISEMENT

Jorge Lorenzo may leave the Ducati team later this year, the Spanish press reported.

Ducati Consider Lorenzo Resignation – The information comes after the bad performances of Jorge Lorenzo with Ducati. The highest ranked place the rider had on the grid was 18th in the championship with five points and is the worst man to compete with a Ducati motorcycle this year, being beaten even by all satellite riders, from Reale Avintia Racing (Hector Barberá, Loris Baz) , The Pull & Bear Aspar Team (Karel Abraham and Alvaro Bautista) and the OCTO Pramac Racing men (Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci).

The news report that Jorge Lorenzo, despite the words of encouragement of Gigi Dall’Igna, general manager of the team, is in the sights of the anger Ducati leaders. The performance this year and the way he reacted after falling on the first corner at the Termas de Río Hondo, pushing the Desmosedici to the ground, already in the gravel, did not fall well in the bosom of the Italians.

The big problem is the adaptation of the #99 to the Italian motorcycle. Dovizioso, his team-mate with the same machine was fast and in good shape in Qatar … but he has far more experience with the Desmosedici, while Lorenzo has a long way to go with his new GP17.

Farewell Jorge Lorenzo is the option the Spanish newspapers are predicting, but it is certain that this would imply the payment of a damn compensation to the Mallorcan. Still this means that this is an option still on the table.

The 11th place in Qatar and the fall in Argentina left, put the Ducati racing team on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The plan would be to wait three or four months to see how the Spanish evolves. If the results continue in this way, Ducati can even advance with the dismissal of the 2015 champion, having already elected Casey Stoner as a great substitute.

If the departure of the Spaniard from Ducati looks unlikely, Stoner’s full-time entry into the team seems almost impossible.

In any case, one thing is certain: Lorenzo’s performance at the Ducati has defrauded expectations.

Hopefully those who were lucky enough to attend the race this weekend will post up some pics and their experience soon. Either way, great race but feels like we were robbed a little, due to the (not to be mentioned at this time) incident. Was really impressed with JZ and was hoping to see a little more from him dicing it up. Both the Moto2 and Moto3 races were pretty good too and also with some race changing incidents. Now we wait for the next round but in the mean time, next weekend will be WSBK!

WSB Race 1 from Assen was brilliant, Soooo fast, the number of offs in the first few laps was due to the middle of the pack trying to match the leaders pace which was scorching .....you won't be disappointed when you watch it

WSB Race 2 tonight and race 1 of BSB, more BSB tomorrow :clap2::clap2: .....plus there was Irish road racing on roads that most of you have wider driveways and they're going 3 abreast as 2 guys overtake either side of the leader .....you can see where Michael Dunlop learned to pass in seemingly impassable places ...the 125 cc 2 stroke race was great, over a third fell off and remounted, one rider took a corner by sliding on the grass until his back wheel picked up traction from the wall and saved it ...literally heart stoppingy

WSB race 2 was another fast one right to the line, very impressive riding and machine control, hardly any offs after the day before, but a few demos of high speed saves

I've been to Assen a quite few times and it's an object lesson in getting the best track out of flat ground, love the place

WSBK was fun. Rea is in another zone. It does not matter where he starts, even 9th! The camera layout at that track must have the camera close to the action, the videography always looks like the bikes are really hauling ass. Some tracks that are even faster do not look it because the cameras are further away and the telephoto effect can compress the image and make it look slower. Some great camera work at Assen.

Another team had to change a ton of stuff on the 2017 just to make it as good as the 2016. Oops Honda.

They may have won but MM in GP and many in WSBK have been complaining for years.

My comment was concerning MotoGP....not WSBK. It's been painfully obvious that they haven't been very good in WSBK since JR left. The platform, even with the latest updates, is ancient by racing standards. A ti tank and fancy suspension does not a competitive WSBK bike make. If Honda really wanted to win in WSBK they would be doing it and SB and NH wouldn't be riding it.
