As a long time VFR User, I think Honda have done a good job of this upgrade.

    Love the wheels
Love the ABS and traction control as standard.
    Love the dash and clamps
Love the idea of heated grips, neva used them but I hear theyre great?
I ride my vtec under the transition 95% of the time, and torque improvement over a sports bike is noticeable.

800cc is ideal - who needs any more power? then go for a VFR1200.

Take off another 5kg im picking, with a nice looking carbon fibre or titanium slip on can
Bike looks small, perhaps it will handle a little better, and im picking a better top speed, more aerodynamic perhaps
You must admit, the 6 gen VFR looked a bit futuristic to start with, a bit angled. But It kept its styling and even still looks good today.
I'm wondering if the styling on the 14 model will date quickly?

    Cons
    Better colour choice required.
No USD Forks (perhaps an unnecessary gimmick?)

Otherwise I give it 8.5 out of 10, I want one, ill keep my 06, wish I had kept my 87 as well. There is nothing quite like a VFR.

That particular nitpick has been around since the early Interceptors. These bikes do not rely on hyper amounts of power and high redlines to make them fast. They require a skilled rider to bring out the beast within. Honda gave us the tools and technology of the ama superbikes....its up to us interceptor riders to bring them to max potential.

Underseat pipes don't fit with the current/modern day paradigm of 'mass centralization'.

It adds 20lbs of weight between the heavier duty subframe required and the exhaust itself. AND all that weight is high on the bike making it feel heavy.

I agree with you on the look but it's counter to better performance.

Anyone have a dry weight on the 2014? This thing is looking better and better to me...too bad I can't afford it even if it came to the states.

You remember me from before. I rode the 1200 back in 2009 when you invited me down to Santa Barbara for the pre-release demo.

I said lots of nice things (I think).

Please invite me back (I especially enjoyed the open bar).

I will bring lots of questions from real VFR riders. I also promise to ride the piss out of this new bike if you will let me. Some track time would be fine with me also, but street time is good, too.

I have been a good boy and my old 5th gen is getting a bit long in the tooth. Who knows? It might just be good timing.

    Sincerely,

    Me

This bike is not destined for the US just yet. There is a rumor that it will be in 2015!
