Chain Size and best chain

I broke the chain on my '92 VFR750F at the strip this weekend.
I'm presuming it's a 530 O-ring chain.

I looks like it has 112 rollers, however some catalogs are showing 120 link chains.

What's a good, long wearing chain?

Tsubaki has one that costs $150 at Dennis Kirk.
RK has the GB530XSO $119

Try www.sprocketcenter.com. They have a complete GB 530 SXO chain klit with the proper 16/43 sprockets at a good price. Great service too. ;D

Re: Chain Size and best chain

Thanks for the tip!

Dennis Kirk is $156.99 for the RK gold GB530XSO with steel 16/43 sprockets and master link, but the kits are backordered.

Sprocket Center is asking $148 for a similar kit but the master link may be an extra $7 and there is a $4.95 handling charge but free shipping.

I checked the factory shop manual and 112 links is the correct length plus they recommend only using the pressed master link not the clip style.

$85 bucks for a good tool.

I read the other posts on the subject, but any other advice or comments? Is it worth going to light weight sprockets, 520 chain and drop a tooth in front? .

:D

Paul,

The kit includes the master link.

Going to 520 will save a little weight, but I doubt much else.

Pays your money, takes your choices.

PS: PM me and I'll work out a deal to "rent" you all the chain tools. 8)

Go here to buy a chain

http://catalog.kiernanracing.com/vie...item_id=481353

It's a DID Gold, and they sell it by the link. Good pricing.
