stinkos worked ok!

Well kinda accidental experiment..after going thru a lot of tires over the years, and finding them all to work just fine. Even when i am pretending to be mr racer, I ended up with a set of 009 shinkos on the vfr? How? I was gonna sell the fjr13, so i put cheapos on it, drove them 1500 miles and they worked as good as the storms I had on it before< 021's which worked good .( But acted diff, turned in much quicker, no big deal that a few hrs didnt get used to. ..So I decide to sell the vfr and keep the fjr, switch the tires..BUT...Finally come to my senses and sell the fjr and keep the vfr..:) trip time, cheapos are on the vfr..might as well wear off the shinko's.
How did they work in the real world, not my pretend to be a racer world? Great..great in the rain in the mtns at good speeds, great on the twistiest roads at real good speeds..:) And the wear has been good as anything I have used.I like to drive the bag off my bikes, and so far I got 8000 miles and maybe a couple thou left on the rear, front 1/2 gone.
They didnt change the characteristics of the vfr as much as the fjr with the turn in, different, but again a few hrs and no notice any more.
Anyway..if you just want something for a roadtrip and not into mr racer, for the price they worked just fine. I will get me another set!

Thanks for the review Nitro. Member Reg71 bought those a few months ago, and it pretty happy with them as well.

yeah I have over 1000 miles on them and have yet to make them slip unless I was trying to. As for longevity, we'll see. I noticed a much slower turn in on the shinkos, but I was coming off a set of pirelli diablos which jump into turns because of their profile. the shinkos are rock solid stable, though.

I had the Shinko 005s on my 748 and they were on the VFR when I got it. Ducs go thru back tires somethin fierce but they lasted as long as my Michelins. Gripped about the same as well. The VFRs 005s have about 5K on them and they are about 50% right now.
$149 for the set and they are sold at a dealer about 15miles away. Can't beat it!

While I don't like the turn in as much as the Pirellis and I'm not quite as convinced the grip is as good, you can't beat the fact that the rear profile is still round at 2500 miles, there is no noticeable flat spot in the middle... That is pretty impressive...
