Would love too, but its really not in the budget right now. Still would like to know about the bike rental. Last time I was out there we rented VFR's.

Just might work out for me to fit in 1 (maybe 2) days of riding with the group as Tahoe/Reno is close (100 miles or so) for me (no issues w/dates). I'm pretty new to the site/VFR and would like to meet some "local" VFR riders and check out some bikes...

Hey, thanks for helping me organize this shorty. I really appreciate it. I put up the date of the first weekend of August sometime ago, but i don't know what people really thought of that....a few mentioned they could make it, but I am up for whatever works for the most people. End of August is the end of my fiscal quarter at work, (I just remembered this) and damn hard to get off, but I am gonna see what I can do. Maybe I can pull the wool over their eyes....haha

Now we've tried to make this on the best weekend for EVERYONE, but of course not everyone can be accommodated, sorry.

Dates: Thursday the 21st through Tuesday the 26th

Thursday: Ride in to Drewl's house in Susanville, CA
Friday - Saturday: Ride
Saturday NIGHT, Sunday - Monday: Relax - staying in Reno at Fitzgeralds Casino. You are welcome to stay at other places, but it would be cool to keep us together.
Tuesday - Ride home
What month, shorty? I know I could look it up on the calendar, but I figure I'm too lazy so there are probably others like me...

2 spots left at Drew's as of 0730 Monday AM.

check my link earlier for motel info!

Preliminary schedule:
Thu 8/21- ride in/hang out
Fri 8/22-easy tour maybe a lake side hang out or 2 lake tour ride
Sat 8/23-The Drewster special-bring your gear, you're gonna need it.
Sat evening cruise down to Reno-check in to repsective hotels
Sun 8/24-
Mon 8/25-
Tue 8/26-ride out. C YA.

Sun and Mon have not been scheduled yet because there are amny possibilities for fun and more riding. Those of you that know the area can add input. Some early ideas are to visit Historic Virginia City(a few miles south of Reno) and a ride up to Lake Tahoe( less than an hour from Reno-best left for Monday to avoid weekend traffic).

Virginia City is cool as long as the Hardley Ableson crowd is not clogging up the streets. It's a great ride especially if you come in from the north side of town. Tahoe can be a great side trip on the way home as well for the Bay Area people (which it sounds like I'm the only one! )

Sounds like a fun idea but too far for me. You can link a central hotel to the website and have a group rate negotiated and people could give the "passcode" for the group rate once the dates are figured out. Seems important to have some type of organized chaos for certain rides and places to eat. Safety should be stressed by each ride leader or provide maps for individual riders. Good luck!
