well, once you get up to the Morro Bay area, Hwy 1 separates from 101 again so at that point, there is the town of Morro Bay with the usual beach town stuff. Then Cambria is not far up from there, it's called a village I think. It's pretty touristy. Just up from there are the seals near San Simeon and Hearst Castle. North of there you get into the really twisty sections where you start cursing motor homes (although gas prices seem to have dropped their use somewhat) and work you way up to Ragged Point with some good views. Cont north, lots of views, hiking etc. Eventually you make it up to Monterey County and then I'm not there so much so I forget what there is to see. Pretty much, just hit the 1 and cruise, you'll see lots of stuff. When you get to Monterey, though, I hear the aquarium is a must see even though I haven't seen it...
