my take
Ok, the pics are starting to flood in. Here's my share...
First arrivals were Drewl and SilverSurfer so we headed out on Fri morn to goof off a bit... First we stopped in Margarita to talk about how much fun hwy 41, 229 and 58 (a short pice of it) were... ![]() this was hanging in Avila Beach for a minute or two... ![]() Then we headed on down to Grover Beach to harass Tori cause he was working. He ended up being at home for lunch and we visited a minute before rolling over to Brian's (SLOVFR). After seeing all the latest gadgets that Radio Shack had to offer (I think Brian is on GPS #6 at last count) we got a call from Derstuka that they were already at my house! They left in the wee hours and didn't do much stopping. No flats this time I guess eh Jase? Here's the riders rides later that night... ![]() We all got geared up and headed out east during the heat of the day. Our route included part of Hwy 41, 229, and hwy 58 east to McKittrick. It was brutally hot but the roads were great. Here's a pic of Jason coming up behind me on Hwy 58 I think just after the roller coaster. You can see his face or you'd see a silly grin on his face. He was giggling like a schoolgirl riding the vibrating horse outside K-mart when we stopped past the roller coaster. ![]() Here we are lined up at the Penny Bar discussing how low we are all on fuel. Apparently one or two of the guys got a little fast on the straightaways through the valley... ![]() Apparently the GPS maps need a little updating cause the closest fuel from here was listed as across the street and that gas station seemed to be a little out of current regulations standards... Anyway from there we all tried to make it to the next town, Taft. Well, we all made it except for Brian who sat down and decided to have a smoke. Jason went back to help him while I bought some gatorade and punded it with some help to use as a gas jug. Upon arrival back with Brian (8 miles shy of the pump mind you), I find them acting a scene from MacGuyver. They have rounded up an old cooling line and a milk jug from the litter and were siphoning fue into the jug. He added the gatorgas and the milkahol to his tank and fueled up. We all got topped off and heded back for the blast back down 58. I think we saw a total of maybe 5 cars on that 60 mile stretch going either direction. Here's SilverSurfer and SLOVFR on hwy 58. The first 10 miles or so of it from McKittrick are pretty much like this set of turns... ![]() And here we are back at the end near Margarita. I think this is nepix, dudalicious, and scubalong coming to the stop sign: ![]() After this we headed back to the house cause everyone was hot and tired and ready for a beer, and Wayne was gunning after my Joust high score: ![]() I'm not sure how we missed Bob (Dudalicious) in that pic cause he played the game a lot while he was here. He must have been in the men's room outside... I'll post more pics later...

Day 2 pics
I think this is Long's bike but not sure...
![]() Here's the bird from all of us to all of you... ![]() Here's Long taking off for a swim. Drewl had already been in and told him it wasn't too bad... ![]() Here's Drewl testing the waters. I think he was the first in while Long was still trying to get his gear off... ![]()

Tuesday afternoon, just got home.
Not only was this the Reg's Road Rage weekend, but I turned it into an epic whirlwind adventure in time. I recently found out that I have 2 childhood friends and one former co-worker who now reside in Cali. I took time out to hook up with them here and there during the weekend. The first stop was in Santa Barbara on Friday while Reg, Wayne, and Brian toured. I had lunch on the pier where you can drive right out over the water. Then went back to Reg's to party. Then we raged the roads on Saturday as seen above. Then went back to Reg's to party. And I drank away my sorrows from dropping my bike at the end of the street. And party and party and party. So on Sunday everyone went their separate ways while Ron and Reg slept off the ta-kill-ya. I went up to San Fran to see my friend who I had not seen since 1988. Passed Laguna Mecca on the way. While there we took his dog Bucket to the beach and we saw hang gliders over the bluffs. From there I slabbed at a super slow pace due to the luggage being too wide to lane split. I ended up in Yuba City to visit a nurse I used to work with in Kansas. In her complex parking lot I found this... Had not moved in a bit as evidenced by the spider webs, but I stuck a VFRW card in the seat any way. Then this morning I railed Hwy 70 through Feather River Canyon--actually got my butt off the seat after watching everyone else do it all weekend. Then got home. Here's how she looked after 1,612 miles at 45 mpg average for the weekend. All on a stock seat, mind you. Reg and Terri kick ass as hosts and tour guides. Great people. The other members there were a blast. Super cool to meet you guys face to face, and then party like rock stars for a few days. Thanks for a weekend I will never forget. ![]() P.S. Everyone should know that I beat all yalz back to Reg's by like 15 minutes even though you all claim to have been going a buck thirty for miles on end. ![]()
