tsunami tommy and Becky trip to Bend

Becky and I decide to go to hit the road this weekend. We talked aout going to John Day Fossil Beds, but when we crossed over Mt Hood, we could see rainclouds all over the place. So we spent the afternoon dodging rainclouds. we got to Bend, and the rainclouds caught us, so we checked into a Motel and called it a day.

Heres some of the pis we took along the way (in my google web album).

Becky is a real trooper. She hasnt even got a grab bar, but she loves riding with me.

By the time we got back to Portland on Sunday, we were tired and sore. We have come to the conclusion that 300 miles/day is comfortable. Beyond that, it gets painful! I am racking my brain for a way to fabricate a grab bar for her. A little seat back would be nice for her too. Some Heli bars for me and Im sure we could go much further.

Saturday we took 26 out of Portland to 97. From redmond we took the Old Bend Hwy, which was really nice. For our trip back we took 20 to 22, over the pass and down into the valley. We started getting worried about ime so wetook I5 from Salem back into Portland. It was Awsome but cold and windy till we got in the valley!

Nice pics Tommy! Glad you had a good time! Tell Becky that I have a pair of pants just like hers! Glad I didn't wear them to the dinner!

Shipping out Mid August......To Beautiful Ft Lewis WA, for duty as an Obeserver/Contoler/Trainer. Hoping to keep the assignment for a few years, which would mean that I get to stay home for a bit!

But then again, i never know where or when.
