Where in the West are SLOVFR and Reg71

This thread is for tracking us down for the next week. WE are going to be logging some serious miles. I'll try and text or call Derstuka so he can post up where we are. Current plans are leaving A-town in the next few minutes then takin 41 northeast up to I-5 then slabbing it through norcal and into lower oregon over to crate lake to camp. that's right we plan to get in nearly 700 miles today! wish us luck!

p.s. if you want to try and meet up with us at some point, I'll let derstuka and RW try and coordinate with you where we are as I'll keep them informed and they have my cell #.

Good luck and Godspeed to you and Brian! Sounds like it is gonna be an epic Iron Butt!

If you happen thru Bend, OR, and have some time to kill, try "Goody's" for a killer Banana Split.

Update:

Reg and Brian just made it to Sacramento, and will be continuing up to Crater Lake by night fall. Tomorrow (or late tonight) they are going to stop at "The Dalles, Oregon" I believe. Reggie said that they are going to try and make the mt baker ride.

Dude, they didn't want to chill in Weed? That is the place to party. OK, not really.
Did they say anything about the smoke? Visibility was down to 1 1/4 miles at about 5:30. I know, I was in Redding then trying to get home.

We came (south) through Southern OR last week as far as Grant's Pass on the 5. Grant's Pass was the smokiest area we saw, then we went west on the 199 & it stayed pretty clear. Even in G.P., it wasn't oppressive - just noticed it - feel it in your eyes a bit.
Wife took the 101 & saw some color in the air just north of Santa Rosa an hour or 2.
Ride safe, guys!

UPDATE:

THE SAGA CONTINUES!!

The boys stayed just north of Klamath Falls, at Hagelstein Park. On the road again at 8am or so.

Made it to Bend, Oregon around 12:00. Stopped and saw Lava river on a few miles before Bend. Trip going fine, but his back hurts.

You PNW guys are gonna need to give Reg some of & to get him back in tip top shape it sounds!

Will Reggie, and Brian make it to meet their friends in WA, or will they go for broke and head over to Idaho to become potato farmers?? You need to stay tuned to find out................

Update

Well I got both good & bad news, the good news is the boyz arrived safe at Brian's brother house around Portland, the bad news is Reg & Brian's Oregon portion of the trip hasn't been exactly smooth, both of them got a ticket for 75mph in a 55mph zone and to make things worse, a lady backed into Reg's bike while it was parked knocking it down into SLOVFR's bike

Ugh...

Well, Oregon so far is not my favorite place... First off, who in the world think 55 is a reasonable speed for a friggen hwy... secondly, who in the hell allowed the cops to have an unmarked ford contour? NO FAIR! thirdly, do the people in Weed not even glance around their cars at other people parked nearby before backing up... Granted, it's not like they were both painted bright red and covered with sleeping bads, tents, etc... Oh wait, they were... Also, how about checkin the rearview lady? Anyway, at least she didn't leave the scene...

Ok, so we get a ticket 12 miles (12 friggen miles!) from brain's bother's house. After that, we decided to just chill here for a bit and then cross over to WA although given my current feelings on OR, it's gonna take some good strippers to change my opinion... And I don't me hairy pit hippy strippers... Oh well, I have some beer and a place to sleep so I'm all good for now... Let me see if I can scrounge up a pic or two... We'll ahve lots when we get back...

That freaking sucks about the tickets. I am happy to provide my legal services in exchange for hookers and beer.
