Sorry Chomp. I have to back out. Saw Doc today and am now off on 2 - 4 months long term disability. Riding into work tomorrow to set things in motion for someone to cover for me, then looks like the bike gets parked for a few months. Then after all that comes the surgery. F man this sucks.

My wife grew up a few miles from Winthrop. The North Cascades Highway is one of the most beautiful roads around. Enjoy the ride!

I'm sorry Randy, but hey, anyone who's been nailed by lightning can certainly get through this. I have lots of tools in the shop, glue, hammer, nails. I'm sure we can strengthen you for the ride... Just kidding. Take care of yourself bud.

Jeff I should be able to make it. Hopefully the weather will hold.

Got a fully functional wood shop with about 10g's worth of tools sitting idle right now. Hey everyone, thanks for the concern. If you rides ever take you this way, be sure to keep me in mind. I can always get out to meet you for a gut bomb at the local choke and puke.

Thank Jason. I have been here before....three times under the knife on the back. survived them all, even a bout of temp paralysis back in 01. In prep for the MRI my doctor asked if I had any metal parts inside me. Told him just gold teeth, nerves or iron and balls of steel. He just about peed. Though he was going to scare the whole clinic out of there.

weather for Sunday is calling for highs in the 80 (29C) no chance of rain!!!!

a few southern riders suggested meeting in rockport or marblemount if i can remember right there is no gas stations in rockport. i suggest we meet in marblemount @ gas station with red caboose (shell) would be a good meeting place. northern riders should be there @ around 10:15-30 depending on boarder line up, providing we don't stop in Burlington. no one yet has showed any interest in meeting there
meeting place sumas way Tim Horton's stays the same leave @ 8am and second meet up @shell gas station in marblemount @ 10:15-30.
looking fwd to a great ride!
Cheers Jeff

Where's your wife from? I grew up in Omak. Depending on how old she is I might know her since we probably played her school in sports. I graduated in '94.

By the way all, if you live anywhere near Washington state and you haven't ridden Hwy 20, you haven't lived. In fact, you don't deserve to own a bike.

It's like riding through the alps, except we call them the North Cascades.

winthrop ride

hey all i am new to this site i just bought my first vfr last week and would love to go on the winthrop ride this sunday to meet some cool people. i am from anacortes, wa. has there been a definite time a place agreed upon where i can meet up with all of you? i read possibly marblemount at around 10:30 is that the official time and place? can i meet up with the group someplace closer like sedro woolley where HWY 9 meets HWY 20 at the AM/PM or even off of I-5 at the COOK RD exit?
thanks
